    James Johnston Jazz Bass Club

I've had mine for over a year, and I love it. Without a doubt as good if not better than Fender Mexicans. I think the real gem of it is the neck, I love the small frets and the general feel of it.

    Why Bass?

I love music period...if I had the time and aptitude I would probably play a great number of instruments...but the bass...just something about the groove pocket and the low notes that reach my soul. When I think about my favourite rockers, I rarely consider EVH, Eric Clapton, George Lynch or...

    My new Epiphone EB0

How good do you think the tone is for something like Jamiroquai or smooth jazz?

    Gibson SG headstock

Hi all, So I found one of the new 2014 SG basses and it is truly a perfect little monster. I also really like short scales so that is a bonus. Here is my issue though, I notice a higher number of repaired SG basses and guitars, usually at the nut, than any other type of instrument. I've...

    I Am Asexual

I'll be honest...I don't get it. I find the idea of being repulsed by or indifferent to sex to be rather odd and potentially troubling. Since humans generally have a wide range of ideas and habits though, I'm sure there is plenty of room for all types.

    1980s Peavey Foundation appreciation thread

I recently picked up an '87 Foundation and it has a thick neck too. Compared to my Matt Freeman P bass, it isn't as thick at the nut, but it is actually thicker down by the 12th fret and past. I'm loving it and the Super Ferrites sound awesome. If the body didn't have a few dings and the...

    CV Bass

I have a Matt Freeman P which is basically just a CV in black and with a maple fretboard and I love this thing. The only P bass I've liked better has been a recent USA Fender P, but I still prefer the neck to any of them. I love high gloss and I am loving the chunky neck. Great bass and great...

The Chunk Keeps the Funk: Let's See Your Chunky Necks

Not sure if counts, I have a Squier Matt Freeman P Bass...but it is the chunkiest neck I've played...and I am really diggin' it. Love the P Bass!

    Jazz vs. Precision

I started out preferring the P/J set-up...then the Jazz set up hit my fancy...then I noticed the different sounds that could be created with humbuckers...then...I played a Precision. The P doesn't stand for precision...more like perfection. End of story, good night.

    Squier CV: Should I bother?

Yes you should. I love my Matt Freeman sig model. Only ones I've played better have been recent MIA's.
