    The Ibanez Club (Part 6)

Yep... I saw that option on newer posts, but none of those had been quoted. No big deal... I appreciate the gentle correction, and the understanding that goes along with it. I really SHOULD know better than post while intoxicated, but I keep doing it anyway! Oh, and for the record...

And if I can figure out how to edit my post from my phone, I will correct it ASAP! Thanks again!!!

    The Ibanez Club (Part 6)

Ahh... I totally and completely missed that!!! And yes, I do understand the difference, so thank you for bringing it to my attention!!!

    The Ibanez Club (Part 6)

My 2405 was setup perfectly, so unless you have some issue, leave it alone and just play it! :)

    The Ibanez Club (Part 6)

Isn’t that what I said? The difference I see is that I added a hyphen. Please... don’t tell me you’re correcting me over a hyphen!!!

    The Ibanez Club (Part 6)

I mentioned the purchase one other time but never followed up on it, so here goes... In late 2019, I ordered a new SoundGear bass from my FAVORITE on-line dealer... ZZounds.com. After much debate, I purchased an SG-2405 Premium in Caribbean Green (more aqua than green). In do not believe I’ve...

So many think you can adjust tension at the bridge

With a locking nut you would then have to do critical tuning at the bridge, but in that case the bridge has the fine-tuning adjustments on it from the factory! I had one from Yamaha at one time... the purpose is the keep better tune when using a trem. However... personally, I've never seen that...

    Headstock Logo for SoundGear basses

I was going to use the fella mentioned above by MPU, but after a little experimentation this morning, I discovered that the large letters are actually thin aluminum (or maybe steel) and I was able to lift them off with an X-Acto knife without damage or distortion. I pulled all the pieces and...

    Headstock Logo for SoundGear basses

Nothing. I did e-mail the shop owner referenced above to see if he could do one from my own JPG file, but since everything he advertises is for Gibson, and in the Gibson font, and hand-painted (the SoundGear logo is too small to hand-paint), I find it highly unlikely he'll be able to make it...

    Headstock Logo for SoundGear basses

I am in the process of refinishing an old SR-505 bass and am going to have a color matched headstock on it. In the process of laminating a colored veneer stained to match the body, I will be covering up the original headstock logo, and don't really want to do that! Searching eBay I located just...

Yes, that is the exact one! Still kicking my own tail for letting that one go!!!

    The Ibanez Club (Part 6)

I used to own an Ibanez 5-string acoustic bass but ended up selling it because I almost never played it; dumbest mistake I've ever made, because now they don't make that model any more (it was an Artwood series with cocobolo top, sides and back), and I haven't been able to find a nice one for...

ibanez SR bridge problem! really common?

LOL... MacGyver! He would have used a tuna can and bailing wire! ;) Here is the link to the temporary "fix" I posted a year of so ago when I went through this on both of my SoundGear basses. For what it's worth, Hoshina USA sent new bridges for both, even though one of them was not...

Should I learn on a 4 or 5 string bass?

You have a point, but for me, since the Ibanez 5-string neck is hardly any wider than most other brands' 4-string necks, and the string spacing is narrower than many other brands also, the things are so easy to play that I found them a beginner's delight when I first started! I cannot imagine...

Should I learn on a 4 or 5 string bass?

I started out on a 5-string around 16 years ago now, and have tried several times to play a 4-string.... and I just can't do it! I use that low B string way too much to EVER do without it! And I suspect if you get the G&L 5-string and play it awhile, you will find you can't live without it...
