The Praise and Worship Band Bassists Club

To be fair, the worship director let me pick out an amp... First one was buzzy - sounded good, bad had electronics problems that I didn't notice in the music go round. Exchanged it and ended up with a GK MB212-II that was in great shape for around $699. The more modern tone works well in a...

The Praise and Worship Band Bassists Club

For the most part, I don't fuss over my tone when playing at church. I don't bring pedals, and use the amp at the church. KISS for something where honestly I doubt anyone would notice the difference between the church's amp, and, my mesa/barefaced setup and some (or no) pedals. Lately, I've...

    Official Barefaced Bass Cab Club

The BB3's are my last cabs. We run a blend of ampless and amp'd gigs. Knowing I can get the same tone from the BB3's as I am putting out the DI is a huge plus. Light, loud and low... They do all three and don't break your back... I am glad I bought them well before the tariff nonsense though...

    Subway+ Bass DI-Preamp II

I think I am going to try the CIOKS 4 and run it from a USB C battery brick. It can do 9 , 12 , 15 or 18V. I run a small board and this would be perfect. Trying to keep it wireless (at least no power...) still running a wired bass.

    Official Barefaced Bass Cab Club

Honestly, I would rather get the voicing from my head than from the cab. I use a Subway TT-800 head with two barefaced BB3's. Modern tone? Use the subway channel... More gritty mid-forward vintage-ish tone? Use the Boogie Channel. I would much rather get my tone from my head than my cab - easier...

Yamaha Custom Fretless Bass... I want one... but where/how?

Love the look of an unlined fretless... Really dig the side-neck dot placement on most unlined too. :)

    Subway+ Bass DI-Preamp II

Its an EBL 9V lithium ion rechargeable. Been using them for years in my basses and other applications. The peterson strobostomp has a 9v out (powered by the battery) and I just ran a cable to it. Worked great for woodshedding. I think as long as I start with a freshly charged battery, I'd gig...

    Subway+ Bass DI-Preamp II

Maybe the Boogie+ preamp is next to capture the Boogie side of the TT-800. :)

    Subway+ Bass DI-Preamp II

Just got my Subway preamp. Sounds great! Sounds great - very much like a mini subway. HAve had it running off of a 9v battery for several hours - really does sip power. @agedhorse - I'm running it off of a Lion 9v battery - anything to look for when the nominal voltage is 8.2-8.4v? I am assuming...

    Subway+ Bass DI-Preamp II

I used to go for complicated... But I've come to appreciate simplicity in setups, and, remind myself and the rest of my bandmates that most subtleties we appreciate as musicians are not noticed by live audiences and are typically lost through a PA in a live performance. I was able to convert one...

    Subway+ Bass DI-Preamp II

I did upgrade part of my live rig to go with the Subway+, lol.... Upgraded the bands subs to EV ETX-15SP's.... Should sound great with the ETX-10p tops. WIll give that combo a whirl on the back patio after the Subway+ comes in. 🙃

    Subway+ Bass DI-Preamp II

Ordered mine today finally. Will be using it wit ha fuzz pedal when ampless... Just want a micro pedalboard. Still will keep my Mesa TT-800 and Barefaced BB3 cabs when I need bring a rig. Hopefully the band gets to run IEMs for most of this year.

    Subway+ Bass DI-Preamp II

I have the TT-800 - Here is how I'm going to run... I'll only take the TT-800 when I need an amp and cabs (poor monitoring/no monitoring or no ability to run IEMs.) The Subway+ II will be on a nano pedalboard with a tuner and a fuzz pedal. For IEM/ampless gigs, this what I'll roll with. (Battery...

What does the oring kit do? stop the knobs from moving?

    Subway+ Bass DI-Preamp II

That is great. I love my TT-800 - but the band is going ampless more... Sound techs always give me props over the post-DI feed from the TT-800. Looking to get something similar enough in a pedal format to pack light for the ampless gigs. Does the boost function as post boost (like an increase...
