Subway+ Bass DI-Preamp II

But what better way to jump on the Mesa Subway bandwagon than to get this pedal. I also have Magellan Pre-amp I haven't even considered replacing & still don't. But I've been considering putting together a smaller home practice pedalboard this would be a great place to start. There's also another preamp pedal I'm highly excited/interested in as well. I dig quality preamp pedals.

And now I have the new Subway+ DI-Preamp II on order. Maybe it's time to retire my Tech 21 duo (VT Bass DI & Q\Strip)?

Do I need another Pre-amp pedal no absolutely not.

Don't buy this pedal unless you're willing to move the Magellan to your practice set-up because that's where it's going end up. It's just that good!

I'm not "retiring" anything. I just have another good option. My amp is a Tech21 VT500 that I have the Subway+ going through. When I want that VT tone again, it's right there.

Thank you for making this pedal. I have been Mesa curious for a while now but both bands I play with are fully silent stage/IEM. It was hard to justify buying a new bass amp and of course I would have to buy a matching cab, when I don't actually use one for a majority of my playing. Just placed an order for this pedal and I'm excited to give it a go. I've been using an Origin SV for the last couple years and love it with my p basses. I recently bought a Stingray 5HH and the SVT tone wasn't doing it for me with the Stingray. I think this will be killer with the Ray.

I had the original Subway preamp +, it was really great but the form factor was a little too large for my pedal board. I am glad to see that Mesa has changed that. As far as sound, does the new version sound the same as the original or have enhancements been made there as well?

I do not have an original here to make that comparison, but all reports so far is that the new box's performance is as good or better. One comment that has been made several times is that the notes might have a smoother edge without sacrificing that clean, quick note to note response the D-800+ is known for.

Andy has mentioned many times that he is continually listening to what players are asking for and each new product incorporates both big asks and little nuance type things to fine tune designs to address the latest feedback.

I know it's not exactly the same, but the box works beautifully with my EBMM Sterling (doing its best Stingray imitation) and my Warwicks...all pretty far from a traditional P bass/SVT vibe.

I am still "cheaping out" on this. As I didn't have the scrilla to get a D800+. So I am going with this pedal instead to capture and pump some of that D800+ vibe through my WD800

I am thinking it will be!

Between the chameleon aspects of the WD and the added variety of the MkII leaning more towards a soild state format. I think this will be fun. Even just running it straight into the effects return and having the damping adjustment will add some goofy mashups between the Subway + and the WD out the box. Then using it stacked on the WD's internal preamp. Like using the MK II to precharge my upright might be a thing, we'll see. I have plans

Okay, the last of the O Ring Kits has been spoken for. I really didn't expect them to go so fast.
I still have hex keys, small plastic bags and envelopes left so I'm trying to decide whether to get more O Rings and offer these for a bit longer.

ok... reggae clip time... here's the skinny - use headphones or monitors for best results. I had my lady shoot from various locations around the stage/crowd area so you can get a better idea of how the sound came across to the venue as opposed to just having the camera pointed at the subs. This was shot for audio purposes primarily, not to show off my sexy self.

Hey ya'll. I decided to make 18 more O Ring Kits since these sold so quickly.

First of all thanks to everyone you ordered them and a "special thanks you" to those who sent more than the asking amount. I did a review of my costs and everything was almost covered at $2 except for PayPal fees and gas to and from the post office.
With the extra money some members sent I almost broke even. If I was wanting to make money on these I'd sell them for $5 per kit, but I just want to break even.

Based on that I need to raise them to $3 per kit.

Yes from what I understand. It adds a little resistance to the knobs to keep things like cords, or in and out of gig bags from bumping your settings out of whack.
