It could be someting inside one of the drivers, under the dustcap. In my old cab, a piece of the leads that go into the cone of the driver came loose and was stuck behind the dustcap, giving a rattling noise. If thats the case you'll have to remove the dustcap.

Flats are indeed a good start, and maybe a slight boost in the lower midrange on your amp. That's the way I did it.

Will a 700RBII paired with an 8ohm cab hit the rails faster? This would be ideal for small gigs while another extra 8 ohm cab will be more suited for the bigger shows. Hope this is correct? I'm real close to actually buying that kind of setup.

Or try to not go over the monitors and only use the amp? I never go over monitors personally, although I can imagine that with a 100w amp you might want to.

It'll probably always be a learning experience. I also agree with getting a good soundman to do all your shows. Having one that knows what you like and knows your songs is really the best thing to have. It makes set up and sound checking a breeze too. Plus that a good soundman can make any room...

My personal experience has always been that the only way to learn setting stage mixes is to learn the hard way, by doing alot of shows at alot of different venues. There isn't a better learning school IMO. How else are you going learn to adjust to the different room acoustics/ wooden stages etc...

My custom shop P pickup had that too, it's a real pain in the behind because i'm a lefty. Had to desolder the whole thing and get the cushoning off and resolder whith the copper plate turned around.

I think not on MIM Fenders, they are on MIA though.
