Just an update; When the wife was out yesterday, I was able to crank up the volume. There is some single coil hum, but much less noticeable than my Fender jazz basses. The pickups are indeed pretty hot. I'm quite impressed with this bass overall.

The fret ends were already cleaned up by the shop I bought it from. ( The Guitar Boutique, Bethany Ontario ) The Entwistle pickups are their Neodymium magnet offering. They do everything from punchy to warm vintage tones, quite well. The overall build is what you'd expect from Squier level...

This bass sounded so nice, it ended up coming home with me! Must be split coils in this baby, NO HUM ! I just need a tort pickgaurd to match my 60th anniversary Strat.
