I have a fender MIM Jazz Bass and just for fun I tuned it B-E-A-D. I really like the sound and was wondering if i should even bother getting a new nut and getting bigger strings, etc. It sounds pretty good now, not too flimsy at all. Thanks Pez

Well, I am new so I don't know too much but I understand what you meant. I played on a few of the frets and it doesn't happen while I am holding the strings all the way down so I guess that's a good thing. It's mostly between playing notes. I guess that's mostly my strings and my technique...

I had about that much money and I got a MIM Fender Jazz Bass for $299 from Muscians friend and that leaves $200 for a decent amp which isn't too bad. I think having a slightly better bass is more important that amp. You can still get a good amp with that money. Pez
