My first bass was a karera J-bass that I got from e-bay for about $100. It was black and REALLY light. I had it for about a year and never played it at all just cause it didn't feel god at all so i sold it to a friend and bought a Fender MIM J-bass. This is what I have right now and it rocks...
I am also considering getting new p'ups for my fender jazz and I was looking at the DiMarzio ones too since they are a good price and have had good reviews. Anyone own any of these and want to share?

I have a fender MIM Jazz Bass and just for fun I tuned it
B-E-A-D. I really like the sound and was wondering if i should even bother getting a new nut and getting bigger strings, etc. It sounds pretty good now, not too flimsy at all. Thanks

I have a fender MIM jazz and I was wondering if changing the pickups would be a good chance to get just a bit better sound? If it would be worth it, what pickups would you suggest? I don't know too much about pickups, I was just hoping for a bit better sound. Thanks

I am planning on getting some sort of effect for my bass just cause I want to do something different :) I want something that sounds cool and is just fun to play. I was thinking about getting a wah pedal. My choice right now would be Snarling Dog Bawl Buster for $130. I would consider buying...
I am going to get some nickel strings because I have never had any and I think they will have the tome I am looking for. I think I am going to get D'Addario XL but I was wondering what other good nickel strings are out there. Thanks

I just wanted to try them cause I never have and thought they would be less bright which is kinda what I want, but not really, know what I mean :) Yeah I do need some help on technique so feel free to help :)
P.S. If you don't mind we can continue this a bit on ICQ. My number is 11884997...
Well, I am new so I don't know too much but I understand what you meant. I played on a few of the frets and it doesn't happen while I am holding the strings all the way down so I guess that's a good thing. It's mostly between playing notes. I guess that's mostly my strings and my technique...
I have a fender jazz bass and I was wondering if I can get some general setup information like how high the strings are supposed to be and stuff like that. Part of it is that I want to stop the buzzing I get once in a while. I have Ernie Ball Super Slinky strings if that helps. Any general...
I had about that much money and I got a MIM Fender Jazz Bass for $299 from Muscians friend and that leaves $200 for a decent amp which isn't too bad. I think having a slightly better bass is more important that amp. You can still get a good amp with that money.
