    balanced tension sets in 2013

La Bella now publish strings tension data on their website: [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] This set of stainless steel M45 (previously called hard rockin' steel) seems more balanced tension-wise than D'addario XL; the M46 ([Invalid or Expired Link Removed]) set is even more balanced.

    D'Addario Balanced Tension

I've just ordered a set of EXL170BT from stringbusters.co.uk, i can't wait to try them out! I also ordered a set of Labella Hard rockin' steel M43, wich are 0.41 - 0.58 - 0.86 - 0.106, and as the labella site says, are quite balanced too

    Wenge neck cleaning/maintenance

Hi everyone, i just got an Ibanez SRXXV: it's the limited edition to celebrate the 25 years of the SR line, and it has a wenge neck and a beautiful padouk top. [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] The wenge of the neck looks a little dry, so i was wondering if is necessary some sort of...

Epiphone Thunderbird Pro IV: weight and information

Hi fellows, i'm in the hunt for a new 4 string bass to replace my Ibanez ATK 305. The ATK is a wonderful bass, but is very heavy, and i'm having back issue, so i'm searching for a lighter replacement. I found this Epiphone and i read a lot of positive review, but unfortunately i can't try...

Flats on a string thru body bass?

Some time ago i mounted a set of D'addario Chromes on my ATK305 through body; no problem at all, i only have a slight intonation issue on the B string, but since you are looking for a 4 string set you'll not have any problem. Happy new year

Ibanez SR700 Charcoal Brown - Question about the color

Oh, i almost forgot to ask: how much does it weight? I'm looking for a light bass because of back problem, and i read that the SR series is very lightweight, is it true also for the SR700?

Ibanez SR700 Charcoal Brown - Question about the color

In my endless GAS for a new bass i came across the Ibanez SR700; i like the yellow (amber) color, but i'm interested in the other color: charcoal brown. I saw different pics of the bass in that color, but in some photos it looks red, and in other it looks brown: [Invalid or Expired Link...

    Disappointed in Chromes

Sorry to hear that, but it's not a Chromes fault: all D'addario's strings are different from other brand, and in most cases you have to use the superlong scale, like for example string-through-body mounting. This fact is well explained on their website.

    Subwoofer: 15'' o 18'' speaker?

Thanks fourteenstrings, your explanation is very clear. I play in a rock band (voice, keyboard, guitar bass and drums), we don't need very big volumes, and we usually play in small pubs, but sometimes in the summer we do some gigs outside, and for that we felt the need of a subwoofer...
