Flea is my favorite. He has such an intense appreciation and spiritual connection to the instrument. I mean, up untill recently he was completly self taught from age 17. He appreciates all styles of music and just loves it with every fiber of his being. He is my all time favorite.

My old OLPMM2 before I sold it was called "Fawkes" because it was red but it didn't really stick so it was referred to as "The OLP" and before that my first bass was just called "The Silvertone" only because I've yet to think of a clever/and or fitting name for it. But my Fender Jazz I have now...

My favorite is that just because you can slap you automatically know how to play every Seinfield scene cutaway lick. I've lost track of how many times I play bass at lunch in school and some bonehead comes up and asks me to play "The Seinfield Thing".:scowl:

For me, I actually prefer Rosewood necks and Basswood bodies for slapping. Those woods just give a warmer lower tone. Which I like batter as opposed to Maple. Paul McCartney?!!?!?? I can repsect him as a song writer but NEVER as a bass player. I don't care what anyone has to say about his role in The Beatles, His bass playing was lame. Sory to be the dick that all you Beatles fans are going to verbally assault but that's just the way I feel.

I use GHS Bass Boomers and they are just fantastic. I can't play with any other strings now because they are that great. But to each his own.
