    DR Strings customer service experience

Could it possibly be the saddle? Back in the early 80's I was breaking bass strings on my Yamaha BB-1200. Turns out that it was a sharp burr on the saddle. It was filed down however,I kept breaking strings. I replaced the saddle and never broke a string after that.

My first time with LaBella flats.....sucked

I just broke the G-string from a Labella set when I put a new set on just two weeks ago. I contacted the local music store where I purchased the set and they were able to contact Labella who sent me a replacement string free of charge. I was hoping for a full set,but I cant' look a gift horse in...

Lifetime of the jack on bass guitars????

At least for the monster cables,I had used them in the past but not on my Pensa. They actually have a wider dimension to the jack end itself. I had it measured and realized that it could possibly create problems. I never step on my cord and will always loop it through the strap.

Lifetime of the jack on bass guitars????

I'm honestly not sure what type jack the service tech relpaced it with. I'll have to speak with him to see if he did ,in fact, replace it with a barrel jack. Thanks for the information. I was not aware of that.

Lifetime of the jack on bass guitars????

I to have an old 1979 Yamaha BB-1200 and have never repaced the jack. It doesn't get played as much anymore however, there was a time for a span of 25 + years that I did use that bass. What gives here?

Lifetime of the jack on bass guitars????

I recently had to replace the jack on my bass guitar i.e. 2007Pensa J-4 custom and was wondering how long they last given the frequency of plugging and unplugging. Is it related to this specifically or are we dealing with corrosion. If so is there anything that I can do to limit the amount of...

Possible harmful effects to a bass guitar when playing in 100 degree heat?

In reading about the most recent heat wave in Philadelphia I was curious about the possible harmful effects of exposing Bass, or any guitar for that matter, to outdoor temps exceeding 95 or more degrees. What symptoms might one notice/expect?

    Strings to reduce fret sound?

Maybe try lowering the pickup a bit. I had a similar problem on my precision a few years back and took it to a technician who had me play to demonstate the sound of the clank. He diagnosed it immediately and I've not had a problem since.

    BB 1200 - truss rod help ?

I know that this is a long shot, but I'll ask anyway. Do you know anyone who has the original issue socket wrench that came with the bass that may reach back far enough to grip it and possibly turn the 90 degrees you need. I have a 1979 BB-1200 with all the original hardware including that...

OK, any Rotosound fans made the switch to another brand and like them better???

I used the Rotosound swing 66 for 30 years and loved them, but decided to try DR Low Riders and Sunbeams after reading so much about them and upon the suggestion of another TB'er. I was immediately impressed. Although I've stuck with the Sunbeams for the past 3 years I recently tried a set of...

    BEATLES TRIBUTE setlist recommendations.

If you can get your hands on one of Paul McCartney's recent DVD's and check out the Beatle tunes he's playing I'm sure you can come up with some of the more popular Beatle's songs. What better way than to check out the master himself and what he considers in his top ten.

Your favorite nickel plated roundwound strings

I certainly have enjoyed the DR Sunbeams but most recently tried Dunlop 45-105 and must honestly admit that I enjoy the sound just as much, they last just as long, and are almost half the price.
