And you know what? You're EXACTLY RIGHT. You're actually supporting my argument that the conventional wisdom about fretboard wood contributing to tone (in a signifcant way) is probably greatly exaggerated.
Actually, I find it much easier to tell a difference in fretboard wood than body wood.
There should be a 3rd choice: "I can't discern a difference."
I can't vote otherwise.

So, which one of your contradictory statements is the one you want to go with? Fretboard contribution to tone exaggerated or fretboard wood type easy to differentiate?
