    Carvin Amps and Cabs?

I'd have to agree about the Carvin cabs and heads. They're pretty disappointing. The basses, on the other hand, are truly well built, feel great, and have a tone unlike any other bass. I use my Carvin bass in the studio a lot. Link Removed

Carvin Active Bass - Pull Out Knob to Save the Battery?

The title pretty much says it all. Does anybody know if I can avoid pulling the cable out of my Carvin active bass to save the battery by pulling out the volume knob, thereby switching the bass to passive mode? I guess I can just leave the knob pulled out for a few days with the cord plugged...

    Curious about Carvin basses

I have to agree with many here that have said that the build, action, and feel of the bass is superb. It is. The interesting thing about my active 5-string is that I almost never like the sound of it live. For live gigs I almost exclusively use my Lakland or Fenders. The only way I can describe...

Double Bass B-Band statement .... bass pickup ..??

Full disclosure: I'm endorsed by B-Band. However, I would say the following even if I wasn't. The B-Band is totally killer. It has the most natural sound of any bass pick up I've ever used. Every producer that hears it raves about it, too. It doesn't have the honky mid-range sound that so many...

    Double Bass Martin Patitucci Model

I'm very curious what that axe costs as well. I noticed some of the other Martin basses were selling for around $20,000 - and that's about what I would expect. Not that I'm planning on forking down $20,000 anytime soon, but, his uprights always sound just about exactly what I want in a jazz...

Another question about Jazz Bass pickups..

It seems as though Jaco used a standard issue 62 jazz for fretless, and a 60 standard issue for his fretted. He used the bridge pick up pretty much exclusively, and he boosted the bass setting on his "Acoustic" rig to full. That's pretty much it. The rest of his tone came from his fingers...

Carvin AC40 or 50 Jack Wiring

Yeah, mine crapped out too. The old one has three, the new one has four. Black, green, white black and red are my choices.

    Adam Clayton's Sparkle 'P'

I just bought a Fender P Highway One for the U2 Tribute that I'm in, and the finish is so nondescript, I'm actually thinking about applying a sparkle finish on my own. I hope I don't totally f it up! :bassist:
