Adam Clayton's Sparkle 'P'

There is something i really want to know. At what point in an awesome rock-n-rollers career does it become cool to have your clothing attacked by a crafty lady with a Bedazzler?

Went to the Fender website and they have a burgundy mist color that looks awfully similar. Also Adam has been known to put jazz necks on p basses as he thinks they're easier to play. That would explain the non p neck styling.

All in all pretty awesome looking machine and one I want!

I just bought a Fender P Highway One for the U2 Tribute that I'm in, and the finish is so nondescript, I'm actually thinking about applying a sparkle finish on my own. I hope I don't totally f it up! :bassist:

John,

It would be totally worth it to have Marty Bell do the work. His finish jobs are legendary, and at $300-$400 it's a piece of art that's quite affordable.

Let me know when you go and maybe we can get a 2 for 1 deal, since I'm thinking about a sparkle job for my Hwy 1...

I prefer the P-basses! The purple sparkle one is especially mojorific.

Ok, I make no qualms about my admiration for what Adam Clayton does on the bass for U2. I'd happily stand in his shoes, but this thread is not about his playing.

+1, I'll never understand why guys like Adam Clayton and Michael Anthony get less respect than they deserve. But as you said, that's not the thread topic. :ninja:
