Double Bass Fishman Full Circle to replace my K&K Bass Max?

For what it’s worth, I’ve used the FC on a travel bass for years. I got about 5 years out of mine with pretty heavy touring. The second one died much sooner, but it had a run in with a band mate clutzing around on stage. Fishmans bench fee and replacement policy has been very easy to deal with...

Double Bass Attaching Wireless Transmitter to DB?

I’ve used a zip tie to secure the RF pack to the tailgut. It sits underneath and is quite invisible. I just use the belt clip to catch the tailgut and use the zip to make sure nothing vibrates. It’s been rock solid for me.

Double Bass headway EDB 1 question

I’m an idiot. Cabin fever is catching up with me. I was talking about the EDM-1, and was sure that was the unit you were referencing. I always get the two models mixed. My sincere apologies.

Double Bass headway EDB 1 question

I’m fairly certain using that trs-xlr adapter in “DI mode” actually supplies phantom to power the headway, bypassing the battery drain.

Double Bass Pirastro Evah Pirazzi Slaps - Unamplified Volume

We used to do an acoustic part of the show, in the middle of the crowd. I used to have my Chadwick wearing all synthetic EP Slaps. I’m not sure I had that action as high as prescribed above, but definitely a few turns higher than where I have the steels. I really liked them, and while a bit...

pedal not working with mixing console

wow. I must have misread your post. Sorry. Yeah, if you’re sure all the cables are good, and you’ve plugged the whole lot into an amp to verify? Then I’m stumped. Insertion of the pedal isn’t adding a lot of gain? The only thing I can think of is that it’s freaking out the console pre in...

pedal not working with mixing console

Those were Hi/Z inputs. And the gain pot is after it, so you may have decent success. The VT still might give you better signal to noise, given the output is likely higher. XLR cables are inherently better because they cancel out any noise picked up by the cable. I would rather use that as...

Double Bass The Chadwick Folding Bass

I can’t take any credit...that’s 100% Jake. But yeah it’s awesome. And it’s easy to score an end pin on the road!

Double Bass The Chadwick Folding Bass

I’m pretty tall and the thinner pins would flex like crazy under vibrato. I had mine swapped by Jake to a New Harmony (I believe). I’m running a Maple drum stick (as high as possible), with the threaded New Harmony bass ball for a tip. It’s lasted forever, and I’m still under 50lbs on the scale.

    Double Bass Remic mics review

In my experience, all the digital desks have a 4 band fully parametric EQ and a variable HPF. Even the cheap ones. The QSC does, the X/M32, the Allen & Heaths I’ve run across, etc. The more pro level stuff may even have a choice to alter the slope of the HPF, as well as fancy plug-in...

    Double Bass Sarno Black Box

I think a few guys eluded to this a bit, and I’ll share my take too. I have no technical background to explain this, just my ears. I feel like, on my bass and FC pickup, the BB seems to make the way the pickup tracks the vibration more consistent. When playing the bass at different dynamic...

    Double Bass Remic mics review

It’s been dark over here for a while. But I just got to use my REMIC green in the studio, and the engineer loved it! I wish I had a red to try!!! We did mostly bluegrass-y kinda stuff, both pizz and arco. I was really impressed in the control room when I heard it back. We were recording at a...

Double Bass The Chadwick Folding Bass

This is sad news. The CFB is a great solution for a lot of us. I wish Charlie nothing but the best, and luck in the future.

    Double Bass Sarno Black Box

I use it in exactly this way. I didn’t make new WaveMaps, as I was out on the road when I got it. It really changed everything for the better, even in front of the TD. It smooths out that quack situation even further. The mids are far more consistent and real. I think the non-linearities and...
