I really sympathise with you on the 715 Trace 'hum... one of my students bought one and then sent it back because of this... apologies that I didn't see your string before - I would have warned you about this problem with them... When I teach I do so in a local music shop and I take my Trace...

Thanks for the message - much appreciated. The usual brand of strings that I use are Bass Centre Stadium (roundwound) Elites. I make up my sets by using a light gauge 4-string set (.95, .75, .55, .35) for the E, A, D and G strings and getting in separate .130 (F#), .115 (B) and .25 (C)...
