You can buy necks and bodies straight from Fender and roll your own. I did one with mexi sunburst body, maple jazz neck, and Duncan quarter pounder P. Easy to put together, cheaper than buying a mexi P.

I don't know how it would compare volume wise, but I've got some Altec 421's that I had in a cab tuned like a subwoofer that did the low high single sound source perfectly. With a good solid head two of them would fill any stage and room I am likely to play. They were HUGE, though!! Jeff
