I’m still here just taking it all in and trying to decide if I’m going to attempt a repair. As someone mentioned, once I start monkeying with it, it’s my problem.

Actually now that I have the tuner off it’s looking worse than I initially thought. The crack seems to extend into the hole. Might be taking it back again.

Oh did that was first thing. Made it worth my while to try rescuing it!

Best and probably smartest but I am interested in repairing it.

I should have clarified it’s definitely a crack through and not a scratch and it can be spread yes.

Guitar center did a terrible job packing this bass so by the time it arrived, the tip of the headstock was sticking through the top of the box and sustained damage. Any recommendations on repairing it?

I found this 1988 Peavey Foundation on Marketplace for only 100$, but it was totally dead. In fact, a couple pots were broken so I completely replaced everything. I used the original wiring configuration with .001 caps on each volume control and a .02z z5u ceramic disc cap on the tone control...

It’s an 07, so it has an ovangkol neck. I should’ve also mentioned I’ve been looking for one of these for quite a while but the prices have been getting steep! My local GC has one with a crack running down the neck and they’re asking 1300$ for it!

Found this mint condition German made fretless Warwick Corvette on Guitar Center online. They had mistakenly listed as a Rockbass for 650$, I couldn’t believe it! And delivered a state away, next day for 25$. I never get this lucky!!!

I decided to take them back, shop returned them no issue. Replacement set looks like they should!

I just bought a pack of D’Addario Nylon tape wounds and after installing I noticed the D string looks like it’s slightly unwound. Does it look defective? Normally wouldn’t mind but these are kinda pricey strings! Thanks y’all!

Funny, I’m pretty sure they had just posted it online cuz I saw it for a second, but couldn’t click on it. Very cool, distinctive grain and a great find! I would have been very tempted to get it, had it been available. Enjoy it!

Just wide enough for the strings. It's a parts bass I got for super cheap, thrown together in a confusing way by the previous owner. The Bart j neck pickup is actually bridge width. Sounds great though, as goofy as it is.
