Jonday, I generally dislike relics, but I have to tell you that yours is stunning! Most relics look worn in the wrong way in the wrong places. Yours just looks like a really old bass that's been through the wars. It's made me change my opinion of relics. Thanks so much for posting.

Sorry, but I just can't.

I've played a bunch through three of your options: the Fender, the Ashdown and the Ampeg. For me, it's not even close; I would take the Ampeg every time. Ampeg captures that old school bass sound better than anyone in that price range, at least to my ears.

Congratulations on your new bass!!! I got the very first one shipped by Sweetwater back in 2019 (I knew one of the design contributors, and ordered mine way in advance). I'm more a 34" scale Fender guy, but this is a fun bass and sounds really great. Plus, the neck is fantastic to play. Enjoy!

I think you all already there, but the AV 63 pickup (or whatever they have named it these days) is really good, and will definitely get you into the Duck/Jamerson sound palette. I own an AmPro (1st version) and just hated the pickups. Tim Shaw is a respected pickup maker, and I'm sure the AmPro...
