Hi all, I'm looking to replace the tubes in an amp I just picked up and I had a question about its two 7025 tubes. Can 12AX7s be used in place of 7025s? The amp in question is a 1978 70w Bassman Ten from Fender. Thanks

It's definitely overkill. My Bassman 135 fills average venues at 7 or 8 on the dial. Looking at these new heads, it's a $400 difference between 200 watts so I think if I were going to spend that much on an amp, I'd go for the gold.

Thanks for the advice. That thing looks heavy though, which usually means it's expensive. I think I'll just deal with using my other amp for practicing by myself unless someone has any other suggestions.

I'm wondering if there's any way I can play mine through headphones only and not through my cabinet. Its got two speaker jacks and a recording/output jack on the back. I'm wondering if I can unplug the cabinet and plug the headphones into the recording output, but I've always heard you...

You probably want to listen to your friends here, especially if they're more experienced musicians. When you put stuff out online, that becomes the first impression people who haven't seen you get of you. If what you put out isn't that great, would you really expect them to want to come see...

Link Removed My recently, and very happily acquired 1981 Bassman 135 with matching 2x15 cabinet.

I have seen one of these in person, I know they exist, it was used for bass and was enormously loud. I also know Bassmans were made from 77-83. Not trying to be rude, but seriously, I'm just asking if anyone knows anything about this particular variant. Thanks. Also, obviously black:

Let me be a little more clear: I do not have access to one of these. I am researching the 135s because I want to get one, and I stumbled on this oddity that isn't referenced anywhere.
