I returned my Fender Rarities Jazz and bought a new top-of-the-line Yamaha BBP34 (made in Japan) from another retailer for $1,150 less than the Fender, which illustrates just how overpriced Fenders can be. The Yamaha is one of the best basses I've ever owned.

It's been described in specs as having a "slim '64 C neck". I disagree. I've played an AVR '64 jazz and that is what such a neck is all about. This one is chunkier and reminds me more of the neck on the Original '70s Jazz even though that one's a U shape.
