Well, they got the 424x at musicians friend now. I believe that the $100 off was just them trying to get rid of the guard-less versions before these came in because now the price is back to normal. The sunburst one looks pretty awesome...

The trick is to use actual tin foil, not that aluminum stuff. Some say it protects the same, but from what I've seen there is a big difference.

I'm by no means a string expert, but if these new Fender flats are indeed similar to chromes, those tapewounds I got not too long ago were pretty loud in comparison IMO.

Normally, sunbursts don't float my boat but that jazz looks nice. It's too bad that they aren't adding more colors for the CV, as I've tried the VM jazz before and didn't like it, but the CV precision felt really great. If they had the CV jazz in a nice red or green, I'd snap it up. As a side...
