Are those your actual settings? You've got the VTC almost all the way off, and the bass and treble way up. I have the same soapbars in the 60's position and I'm still trying to find the Holy Grail settings.

I've been a JJ pickup guy my whole life. I'm just wondering, what does a PJ sound like? I guess I understand that if you turn down the J pickup, then you have an instant P-bass sound. But what do they sound like together?

Yeah, I'm a GK flat controls guy too. I have a Sadowsky 5-string and I like to let the onboard bass EQ shine thru. Although I do sometimes adjust the amp for a room that's bad for bass. I think most house sound engineers prefer all bass amps to be EQed flat anyway......

I think there are heavy people on every instrument. (Just look at John Popper on harmonica.) But I must say that you rarely see a fat guitarist. Perhaps because they are all hyper, out of control, and can't sit still and be quiet for even a minute. Burns a lot of calories..............

When I do wedding gigs, folks always wanna hear "Sweet Caroline". I hate playing it and I don't understand the mass appeal of that song. Is it because they play it at baseball games and people just wanna shout in unison "So Good, so good, so good...." ??

I would say a JJ pickup style is more versatile. I can get a PJ sound by favoring the front pickup a bit. But you can't get a JJ sound from a PJ bass.

Does anyone know, the white or cream colored bass that Will uses nightly on the Letterman show, is it a PJ config or a JJ? Can't really tell with that bell cover on there.
