Just put the DR sunbeams (recommended by the nice people at Talkbass) on the Jazz Aerodyne and sure enough - killer! ;)

This has been a really interesting and thoughtful thread, thanks to all who have contributed to it. I am not sure why speed would be so important, but then I play simple contemporary blues so my issue is often not feeling challenged enough, because I learnt on guitar so can get pretty fiddly...

Thanks for the replies on the settings. Here is my used dolphin grey aerodyne with characterful minor marks here and there, and a nice design touch on the knob panel but mostly sublime: don't know which strings came with it whatever fender stick on there but they aren't bad and will be better...

New to such things, so could you tell me what the configuration of those 3 controls are, please? Ie which are volume, jass and precision tones? Thanks... Near to joining you Aerodynamic monsters soon...

It really is a colour that seems to change and shift - are there any other colours that play tricks like this in the different kinds of light?

A lot of these type of colours look different depending on the light and photo quality...

This is interesting for the general retro vibe, more than too specifically the bass tone. This tone is very popular now with bands working that 70s vibe...video is well made, like these story style ones, and the vocalist is very easy on the eye too. Reminds me of 'Go Robot' by RHCP!

Agree with a number of comments here about that first track with the accent putting me off, but I listened past it to These are the Ways which rocks, then an earlier post of Poster Child which is classic funk that only they do so well. Will order the album now! ;)
