Need a non amp solution for live playing and recording

It works just fine, just set it to instrument. Pro Tools has a built in bass amp plugin you can run it though, but there are better plugins out there too. Or you could chain it with Reason for a perhaps more familiar work flow through VST.

Tell me how you like your Ibanez

I have a GSR-200. I love my bass. The electronics though are an issue. I either blew my P pickup or part of my active pre-amp. When I have the volume not at the lowest on the P pickup it gets scratchy then completely cuts out. This happened after having a brand new D'Addario flatwound snap on...

Need a non amp solution for live playing and recording

If you have a legit version of protools, then you should already have an interface which will work. I use my DIGI 002 exclusively (I don't have a real bass amp and cab, I have studio monitors and pro-tools).

Thomastik Powerbass VS. Circle K strings???

I was actually going to post this same thread. I hear great things about both. I think I'll probably go Circle K for the balanced strings and because they are half the price.

Poll: New bass for Christmas: Open today or Christmas day?

That's an amazing looking bass. I'm sure it will play like a dream. I vote for waiting until christmas. The anticipation is the best part in a masochist way.

    What kinda strings are these?

http://accessories.musiciansfriend.com/product/Thomastik-EB344-MediumLight-Power-Bass-Roundwound-4String-Bass-Strings?sku=101634 Those are the only ones I know of, but I'm no string expert

Replace active with passive - how?

Thanks for the help. Thinking about it harder, I think I would like: 1:volume 2:volume 3:tone 4:rotary selector switch for pickup selection (neck, both series, both parallel, bridge only) Do you know what kind of switch I would need for this? I can't seem to find anything on my own so a...

Replace active with passive - how?

Thanks for your help gidbass! Somehow I didn't see Lace's wiring diagrams on their site. I can only find one online retailer that sells lace Aluma P and J pickups, and they don't seem to have CTS pots, so it looks like I'll have to order from 2 different places (sigh) oh well. So now that...

Replace active with passive - how?

Thanks for the repsonse! So basically aside from possibly adding in the TBX, I would wire it in like Seymore Duncan shows here but use a cap of .022? [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

Replace active with passive - how?

Ok, so I'm going to be replacing my active electronics in my Ibanez GSR-200 (with phat II) to a passive system. I'm REALLY liking the sound of the Lace Aluma P and J. I know I'll need to replace the pots as well, but what pots do I need? 250k? 500k? Also, I would like to add a tone control...

    Recommend me active pickups

Ok, so I have a not very expensive Ibanez GSR-200 P/J bass. I love this bass but something unfortunate happened. I bought a set of D'Addario Chromes XL flat wound strings. I wanted to try the flat wounds and though this would not have been the brand I would have chosen, it's all the flat wound...
