What ever happened to Stenback basses?

For sale in the UK, this is Scott's bass from the video. https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/526184-stenback-p-bass/

Will a Squire Jaguar 32" scale neck fit on a Squire Classic Vibe 70s P-bass?

Late to this party, but I have done this mod on a P bass about 2 years ago, it has been a steady bass in my rotation ever since, sporting Labella 760FS and EMG GZR pickups. The himass bridge covers more space, so it looks better than having markings or exposed holes on the body in absence of a...

    Blue Bass Club!

I have two submissions, both parts basses I’ve put together. 1. P bass 32” - Squier Jag neck, Squier body, F high mass bridge, EMG GZR pups, Labella 760fs. Gigged often and sounds incredible! 2. J bass - 00 MIM neck, Squier body, Gotoh bridge and tuners, Nordstrand NJ4SE noiseless pickups...

Black anodised 10-hole aluminium pickguard hunt - any leads?

I found one on Amazon quite easily here in Europe. Hopefully that is the case in the US these days as well.

Issue with Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0

He’s a huge asset to this community. Both in repairing our amps despite no longer working there, in being present on questions on forums for years and years, and for answering private messages. Just a wonderfully generous person.

    G&L Club Part 7

SB-1 and SB-2 owners, plus anyone else using MFD P split coils. Can you share your pickup height settings (and how you measure: string pressed or not?). I own these two lovely basses, both with LaBella flats, and am curious what height you settled on, and why. I’m in an experimental mood 😁

    Lakland Owners Group #69

Thanks for the input! A pure jazz sound is not a must for me, I play mostly P basses anyway, so the uniqueness of the one single 4-string J in my arsenal is as much a factor.

The issue is all three basses cost the same, so having a hard time choosing which bass to go for.

    Lakland J-Sonic 5?

I am considering buying a 4 string J sonic, mint condition, or a 44-60 with Fralins. Which would you go for? I have a Lakland Skyline HB34 with Chi Sonic which I like a lot. I play mostly P basses, but have the Lakland 55AJ as an active J. I play in wedding bands, big bands and the odd musical...

Can someone share their experiences with a 4 string J-Sonic? I would like to pick a used one up here in Europe, and can go for minty J-Sonic for 800€, or a 44-60 Osborn Sunburst (with Fralins) or Metallic Blue for a little less. I love the Chi-Sonics on my Hollobody 34 and my (now sold) Decade...

Fender modern player (jazz bass) humbuckers. What pickups?

There is no way to wire Gen 1's with a switch for SC/Series? (Are they wired in series or parallel?)

Wouldn’t be everything easier if we learnt this technique from the beginning? IN DI BININGIN!

100% agree with this. Just to add, I played a summer season of Mamma Mia! here in Austria, where the opening notes consist of a 16th note Fmaj7 into D descending arpeggio. When playing with two fingers, I found that starting with my middle finger allowed me to play the cleanest. Go figure!

I find it more useful to master a good thumb and pick technique. I sometimes use three fingers when droning on 8th notes, more out of boredom. Thumb + index and middle for octaves is useful though, and thumb plus other fingers for chordal is as well.

    Cheap Preamp for Backup Board

I have a nerd guitarist friend who is obsessed with his own sound and does quite some production. After the sound check at this one wedding, I asked him to fiddle with the Battalion and the MXR Octaver, and because FOH was muted, we could take our sweet time. Sounded really good in a 6-piece...

    Cheap Preamp for Backup Board

Agreed! I had a faulty distortion footswitch and EHX sent me a new one. Was a breeze to install. The gate is famously clicky and barely usable. The compressor I am clueless about, which hasn't been an issue with so far, but I have read that it's decent. 😁😁
