After listening to a ton of demos I went with a Duncan Studio Bass Compressor. Really does sound like a studio compressor to me, many live engineers started commenting on my rig one I started using it.

Question for the Class, Does anyone know the specs of the pickups of the Mustang PJ pickups? Like what type of magnet, output resistance,etc, or if they're from a specific fender series. I can't seem to find any info on that. It always just says "Precision and Jazz" Pickup.

Thanks again for the advice, just got them on mustang tonight and it made a world of difference. Went with the straight shortscale since it's the pj model. Sounds punchy and thick now, has made me stop thinking about changing the Pu for the time being. 1st rehearsal with her tomorrow

Was thinking about doing something similar! Did the mustang pickup need anything special to mount? Also what is that bridge? For your jazz pickup, I'd fill it with wood and wood glue, sand it down flush and repaint it.

Just checked out some clips and I think that's the way I'm gonna go, is it a short scale set you use or are you trimming a regular set down? I only see the light gauges (45-100) available on their website for shortscale.
