    Amazon oddities

Amazon pricing can be pretty crazy sometimes and are all controlled by algorithms. There used to be many crazy deals on Amazon 5 to six years ago but they don't come up nearly as often now. About a year ago they had a Godin Shifter 5 that was normally around $1200 that was dropping in price...

Got to try a new Fender Deluxe and came away completley...

This makes little to no sense in regard to bass guitars. A $150 SX bass or $200 Squier will last every bit as long as any Fender or even more expensive brands. Basses don't have parts that degrade over time other than the strings and frets.

    Dean....any love for their basses?

Years ago Amazon had a deal on Dean Edge Q4 Bartolini basses for $129. I bought two and ended up selling them but they were great basses. Also bought a black Eric Bass Hillsboro for around $250 and was really impressed by the quality.

Thinking of selling my Jazz ...

I recommend selling it with the case. You can always buy another case with the $ from the sale. You can find good quality cases and bags for around $50-100 if you look around.

What's That New Marcus Miller Signature Bass That Just Came Out? Well, Marcus Isn't Using One!

You're losing it. The product page explains what Marcus's input into various factors, like the bridge and pre, of the bass were: [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] and they have not been made under a different name. This thread is silly. Marcus plays his Sire bass/es and he still plays other...

    The CORT Club (Part 2)

Great thread. Soo many beautiful basses. Cort is a sadly unappreciated brand by most but thankfully that keeps the prices low. Here is my B4 20th anniversary model that I've had for nearly a year now and absolutely love. Cort B4 20th by Need2KnowBasses posted May 24, 2015 at 2:50 PM

The Official Warwick Club (Part 6)

Love the wenge truss cover and tuning pegs. First time I've noticed those on a Warwick.

Opinions Beeded on Cheap Bass For Low Tuning:

Cort makes great basses. While the brand name Cort is not the most recognizable to players the company Cor-Tek is well known among manufacturers. Cor-Tek makes the over seas budget models for many of the guitar worlds biggest brands. I've heard they make some Fender/Squier, Ibanez, G&L Tribute...

    Ibanez Talman Bass

I've checked out both Talman bass models at a nearby shop and I'm impressed. I don't know if I got lucky, the shop did a really good set up, or if these come out of the factory extremely playable but the two I put hands on were amazing, especially considering the price. I've only played the $199...

Lakland Skyline 55-02 vs. MTD Kingston Heir 5

I'm pretty sure the 5502 has US made Lakland pick ups or at least the same pups in the US series. The Lakland is made in Indonesia which has higher production costs than the MTD made in China. Lakland Skyines are also plek'd (machine for fretwork) and set up in the US where as the MTD just gets...
