I have an older Cort P Bass that I am looking to refurbish. I need to replace the pickups, electronics, pickguard, etc but finding the pickguard is difficult online. Does anyone have any suggestion for replacement parts for an older P bass.

My new baby :)
I like her very much.Very light and very well constructed,nice fast neck.Very smooth surfaces and good balance.The only think i don't like is the strings.The powersounds pickups have good sound but i don't like the pop from them.For finger and pick style there are excellent.

I forgot to tell the model.Is a Cort Action V walnut Satin .It must be a little older model than the one in there site.The difference is the high mass bridge and the "Designed by Cort research" logo at the headstock on mine.
The pups are a single coils J but the noise is so minimum when you play them alone.Very pleased with that.
The output is low but not so much.I pay only 199 euros for that bass,unbelievable :woot::bassist:.

I am interested in buying the same bass as yours. I found it NOS at a music store for 270 euros. (is this a good deal or not?) I didn't had the chance to plug it in yet, but I indeed found the neck to be perfect. Yet I don't know what it sounds like. The only thing I could find was one guy on yt playing this with a rather loud backing track. So could you please give any 'verbal' explanation of it's sound? (I don't want to drive all the way back to the store to get out after five minutes if I figure out it has a sound I don't want)

I find it quite flexible when it comes to sound. The pickups are typical passive soapbar humbuckers. The electronics is basically an active eq which provides great flexibility. I find that I can get about 90% of all the sounds I need from the active electronics. The last 10% is the clarity you get when you pull the volume knob, turning it into a passive bass.

I still play it, but these days my main bass is a Sterling by Music Man Ray34. It is hard to quantify what is better. I think the EQ circuitry combined with the Ray pickup placement is the difference.

I think you should try it. It is hard to tell if the price is good. If the bass is really NOS, I'll say it definitely is.

Guys,which one Cort bass with double bridge humbucker "sounds" like a MM bass?

2.GB5 Custom
3.GB35A
4.Arona 5
5.C5H

In any of the above basses the Humbucker is in the same spot as a MM bass?
