Not sure how they'd go about repairing such damage or if it's $$ worth it. I may just return it for full refund but it plays real nice. Though, so far I don't think its' as nice or versatile as the Skyline 55-02D I was hoping it would replace. And I like to flip gear so this is really gona hurt my re-sale price if the repair is not done or not done well.

Picked up a Cort Artisan A5 SP on new years eve. What a beautiful 5 string it is in all departments. I went down my local music superstore to get a 5string with a modest budget and a Fender Jazz MIJ to trade. Initially I had a G&L , Lakland or a MTD in mind . I tried nearly every 5 string bass in the store and kept going back to the Cort A5. I couldn't get my head around why, what I've always regarded as a lesser/budget bass brand, sounded and played so much better than all the other big brand names within my budget. I asked the store owner his thoughts on the Cort. He said "if this bass had a name like Overwater, Fender, G&L etc on its headstock it'd be at least £2000. The hardest part about buying this bass is the name on it". Sure enough, I bought the bass. Most natural playing 5er I've ever tried and has a tone I've been waiting for in years.
as alternative, does the seller have Cort Rithimic V? There was time when I was GASing for these two Cort basses which cost nearly the same in my country.
Good buy!!! I'm always amazed by the Artisan A5 Custom series, especially the Custom 20th, in which Cort could cram 9 pcs of woods into a single 5 string bass neck.
@Aidil...funny you should ask about the Cort R-V. I was researching Cort basses and came across this Jeff Berlin model. They show him in a Utube video holding it but he never played it. No other vids show this bass so I have no idea how it sounds. I know it has Bartolini soapbars but not sure what series. I've had Skyline 55-01 w/MK1's and 55-02D w/US Barts. I much prefer what the 55-02D offered overall.
And yeah, I did check out the sellers store. He had a few Skyline DJ5 and a JoBo 5. I just sold a JoBo 5 and I've got a few jazz basses now, so not gassing for the DJ5 like I was for awhile. They are good looking basses. I may just ask what he might do on the price of a DJ5 just to see if I can pick one up at a good price. Never played one so be nice to try but don't really need another jazz bass.
On the fence now, if he can offer me a very good discount, I may keep the GB5-Custom, as it has a unique tone to all my other basses. Or it'll just go back. Thanks for the suggestion. peace, e.

I'm thinking of getting a Cort B4 or a Cort arona 4, would you recommend one over the other for any reason? I'm having a tough time choosing. Also is there a big weight difference between the B4 swamp ash and mahogany? Slightly towards the Arona because of the Delanos.
I had this very same choice in front of me a while back... and chose the B4 (swamp ash). Mainly because of the looks

After a looong time without playing bass, the bass clef started calling me again, and I returned. So I buyed this Cort DLX at a very good price (New)
And I'd get fascinated with this little monster. The trebles are awesome, the pick sound makes me crazy and it's freaking versatile. If you want a fat bass, you got a fat bass, if you want an agressive bass, you got it.
I was thinking to change it for an Artisan (I'd played an A5 from a friend of mine, and dude... is THE bass), but, after seeing some options, i'm pretty happy with this right now. And I have no doubt that in not much time longer i'm gonna buy the same version of the DLX but on 5.
And recently I buyed this other little monster 'cause I needed a bass to let in the house of the guitarist of my band (Where we rehearsal) and it's pretty far to be traveling all weeks with a bass. So I was searching some crappy bass for some bucks and I founded this Cort Action (Passive) used and in inmaculated state for U$S270 (And some cents, in my country, Argentina, the price of the product was 3750 argentinians pesos)
It had the storage strings and pretty rusty (It seems it was a while that the guy didn't played the Cort) but they selled the bass with a Dunlop 0.40 strings. So I put those on the bass, and man... beautiful. The Dunlop are by far (At my taste) the best strings for bass I had ever played. And the sound of this Cort, the mere fact of being a P-J. Is amazing.
These two basses are the more economic and affordable line of Cort, and most of the stuff is very generic. However, they are delicious, and most for the price.
I love Cort.

2. Can anyone tell me about the older model A4 that came in trans red gloss with gold hardware and MightyMite pickups? I just purchased one, after spending about 20 minutes fiddling with it. I'm almost positive that the body wings are maple but what are the neck woods and where can I find actual specs for this model???

I can't really play much anyway, since my hand/arm has been acting up, but I'll be adjusting the truss rod in the morning.
There's no neck relief now & I had to tighten the spinning treble cut knob, but otherwise it's in great shape.

Still haven't uploaded pics of my A4, but I was looking at the MightyMites on it the other day & was thinking "Man, these are REALLY long for a 4 string pick-up." Pulled out a set of EMG40-HZ I had kicking around from when I swapped a set of EMG 40J's into my Spector ReBop 5DLX. The MightyMites are EXACTLY the same size as the 5 string EMG40-HZ. So, guess what's going into the A4 this weekend? 
If the neck is dark brown with a fine wavy pattern, then it is wenge.
Check the back of the body. What is the color of the wings? If it is anything but maple, then most likely it is asian mahogany with a maple cap on top
Anyhow, all Cort Artisan basses are beautiful and feel great to play

learn how to set up the bass from youtube vids, fiddle with it for a few hours, then you will have a perfectly playable cheap bass. Its not really worth taking to the luthier imo, setup costs around 1/5 the price of the instrument I still have my Action 4 BK mainly for practice. It is undoubtedly a cheap bass, but I have had no performance issues with it in the last 3 years. Plus im not really afraid of handling it rough
