    I have a Godin Passion RG 4 which is a similar bass. It came with Quarter Pounder pickups. This were good pickups but a bit scooped for my taste. I put EMG Geezers in and have been very happy with them. They sit so well in a band mix.

    Sell me on your favorite PJ pup set!

    My bass came with Quarter Pounders. They are very good pickups but I found them bit too scooped for my liking and I switched to the Geezers. I find the Geezers cut through the mix in a band situation very well without any amp tweaking. I use a Subway WD800 amp.

    Stingray Special vs. Yamaha BBP34 video

    To me, the Stingray sounded Ok for the slap but both Yamaha options sounded far more musical for everything else.

    Whatever you do, DO NOT use the Hercules long arm hangers. I had one break on me. It sheared right off with a 9 pound bass hanging from it. It happened after a year or so.

    NBD - Godin Passion RG4

    Enjoy your new bass! I bought the maple neck version when it came out and am still playing it daily. It is a bass that never caught on, which is a shame. Godin makes great instruments that are affordable.

    Why not just get three 1x15 Subway cabinets? I have two 1x15 Subway cabinets and it sounds awesome. I can only imaging the power of three. Might have to try it myself!

    Thanks for the reply. That probably is the road I should take. It’s just tough when that BFR Okoume Stingray looks so good! I do kinda sense I’d be paying more for a bass that does less though.

    The current band I’m in does pop and rock music from the 60’s right up to current day hits. I have a PJ with EMG Geezers that keeps me happy but why not have a Stingray too!

    I see Cosmo Music currently has an Okoume Stingray in stock. My question is about the price difference between it and a non BFR Stingray Special. Can anyone explain why there is such a difference?

    Thanks for the review. I don’t own any Stingrays yet. Should I get the regular Stingray Special first, before I start collecting these special edition Stingrays?
