If I run the m900 in 2ohm mode into 2 8ohm cabs, is that safe for the head and cabs?

And when only using one of the cabs, I should set the head to 8ohms, correct?

So after months of debating I finally pulled the trigger. I have the limited Medusa edition Darkglass m900 and 2 Mesa Powerhouse 2x12 cabs headed my way. Since they're discontinued, I found a shop in Texas that had the cabs on sale, so I feel like I got a good deal @$799 each. Just to be sure...

Would 2 212 subway cabs be appropriate for hard rock? I love the sound of the powerhouse cabs, but am trying to save my back from the weight.

I'm also considering the subway 2x12s (and/or 2x10s) for the weight savings. The extra cost isn't really an issue. I don't have a dealer anywhere near me to try them in person, so I might have to bite the bullet and buy them sight unseen. From what I gather, there aren't drastic differences in...

Thank you. Exactly the answer I was looking for. So, the question is then, get the 12s or 10s? I play fairly heavy rock and have used a Trace 1048H since the late 90's. I love the tone, but one of the cones is starting to give and the 95lb cab is a beast.

+1 for the AH400SMX. It's been a tank for me since I got it in 1994. As mentioned, the tube input blend, eq, and 2 band compressor are all top notch. I've gigged it extensively over the years and have never had any complaints.
