That's a really good video, naiko. It gives a pretty good overview of the character of this pickup. I also like you removing the tone pot and moving the output jack to the front. nice touch!

The SD pickup is a direct fit, the control plate is sized for metric sized potentiometers, so you will need to go with ALPHA, or CTS METRIC shaft sized pots, output jack is currently a metric sized jack, but a Switchcraft will fit.

no, it wont matter if you soldered it to either pot. check your grounds again to make sure that youve got good connection.

to just swap the pickup you do not need to do anything to the output jack. there should be two conductors connected to the output jack, hot output from the volume potentiometer and ground shield soldered to one of the potentiometers. It is likely run to the output jack via a shielded cable...
