    Hagstrom Viking Bass Reissue.

Same thing here. It's weird. It must have been a design issue but it actually makes things easier on stage like using a bass with two volumes and one tone knob. Viking is not a first class custom bass but it is definitely superior than any cheap short scale hollowbody bass. Better than...

    1970's P-bass pickups

Turn down the volume just a little bit and you have more weight and lows. But less mids.

    1970's P-bass pickups

Hey i just got a 76 Precision and i was wondering the same thing. Sounds like a big truck from the mad max movie. It also sounds like Thin Lizzy. I'm not sure if anything changed since the 60's, the changes in production facilities and materials may have affected the sound but the design should...

    Mesa/Boogie Titan V12 megathread!

Thank you Dalmasn, it's an older Silverface. I just tried it today for about 30minutes and it's really quiet - not fully driven and the output level around 2-3. This thing is loud!

    Mesa/Boogie Titan V12 megathread!

I am about to buy a used titan, what do you guys think about the fan noise? Is it noisy? I am planning on using it in the studio a lot.

replacement bridge pickup on G&L sb2

Hi TBers, I really love to play my SB2 (30th anniversary white/ebony) but i'm not happy with the hum i get when going direct to desk. I have all kinds of DI's but sometimes it's tiring to convince a sound man that this is a great bass with great sound. If anybody has any ideas about a...

2012 American Special P Bass (HoneyBurst)

I didn't do any before and after recordings but i have recorded a few tracks with the old pickups before. Definitely will record with the new ones too. I'll try to post examples soon if i have time.

2012 American Special P Bass (HoneyBurst)

I have the Aguilar 4P60 pickups on the bass now, huge difference. I think the stock pickups lacks definition and punch. It's not a big problem if you always have an amp on stage but the line signal was not working well. The sound guy is happy now, and the drummer who always have in ear monitors...

My impressions of the American Special Basses

i have the hand stained American Special P (from GC NY May 2013) and the setup was so good when i tried it for the first time, i had to buy this bass. The setup is still great, i didn't have to do anything since. The guys at GC did a great job on tuning the bass. But the bass stopped working...

    G&L Club Part 7

I really like that Asat bass, but i can't play it because of the short upper cutaway. I am so used to have the cutaway about the 12th fret so the bass feels comfortable when i'm standing. I can't play some of the Warwicks too.

    G&L SB-2 tone question

I use both pickups %100 or neck pickup %100 most of the time on stage. It's often too bright for sending to P.A., sometimes i cut some treble from Aguilar Tone Hammer pedal which is really transparent. Sometimes if there is bad electricity, the back pickup makes some hiss so i use the front...

    G&L Club Part 7

I got this used about 3 months ago. It's the 30th anniversary collection with matching headstock and the THICKest ebony board i have ever seen. It is made so well, i feel like i can trust this bass everynight and it will do the job. (I still don't understand why it doesn't have a tone pot...

    G&L Club Part 6

Hello everybody, that's my first post :bassist: That's me with my G&L L-2000 Butterscotch/Maple at the soundcheck. The ultimate rock bass sound in my opinion.
