A lot of songs by Primus not used over the top but on the low key like in Sgt. Pepper and the intro to My Name is Mud. Victor Wooten also has a tremolo on one of his basses so I'd look through a few of his songs as well.

I vote for G&L and something that will grab people's eye like some Steinbergers.

Very true about the customer service, I got one of those vintage jazz fretless but it came with a huge chip in the finish, kinda made me sad to send it back cause I knew that was a great bass.

I was almost able to join! I just got one of the Vintage Sunburst Fretless Jazz but it has a large paint chip in the back, will they exchange it for no hassle? It plays and sounds great but I am not too happy about waiting for a chipped bass.

I like the tone they give especially with a pick you'll find that treble you want, but you will also find they go dead quite fast which was why I stopped using them twenty bucks monthly is a little ridiculous to me.

Because SX is too short to use when searching so we use essex:).

The SX's are great starter instruments but a G&L Tribute is perhaps the best bass I've played under $500 and certainly the best I've owned. I think they look amazing too.
