New ZT Bass amp - very small 12" combo

"Option b," but in stereo with a stereo effects loop, and stereo line out, stereo aux in (for CD/MP3), and stereo headphone jack. This would be a great practice/dorm room to rehearsal room to live gig, one-stop solution for me. ... or, I could just buy another GK MB112, and a small mixer...

Electronic upgrades for Brice HXB 406 Lefty???

Update? I just ordered a Brice HXB-406 northpaw. :D Have you changed the stock strings? If yes, then what brand/set did you find that works for this bass? I'm planning on tuning it to EADGCF, if I can find strings for this combination and scale.

    Best kind of acoustic basses?

Have a look at the SX Burtha Acoustic by Rondo. It's $325.00, includes active electronics (with built-in tuner), and a hardshell case: Link Removed

    Worst bass for metal?

The tuba IS heavy metal!! :p The tuba is commonly used in the best heavy metal groups like the Empire Brass, and the Canadian Brass. Probably the best heavy metal concert I attended was at San Marco, Venice, where an Italian heavy metal group played a set of Monteverdi and Gabreili pieces. :D

Serious Electric Bass by Joel Di Bartolo

A few minutes ago I received the best bass instruction book I have ever seen: "Serious Electric Bass: The Bass Player's Complete Guide to Scales and Chords," by the late Joel Di Bartolo. I was sad to learn that Maestro Di Bartolo recently passed away, but I am happy to dedicate my first Talk...

Spam pm from "mindosia96" our newest member

I received a PM from "nulav13" today, who seems to be up to no good. :eyebrow: Though nulav13's profile says he's banned, it appears that he is still logged in (green dot).

    Bass Distortion

I have no idea what is "doom/stoner rock," but I suppose stacking 4 or 5 fuzz/distortion/overdrive pedals together then fiddling with all the knobs might be effective.

Great job jags!:) I think I'll stick to the more simple mod with the 3-way switch, and two of the original pots (volume and tone) and cap until I can get better parts and pickups. I just have to find a cheap SP3T (with metric thread and diameter), de-solder, move a pot, solder, and then I'm...

I Tell You, We Don't Get Any Respect

Forget those deadbeats! If I had a nice, little casita in Palm Springs, I'd hold summer bass clinic/jam/BBQs and invite all my bass-playing friends over for the best bass guitar fiestas ever. :D :bassist:

Yes, the 0.068uF works well because of the 500k pots, and the type and characteristics of the pickups. I plan on ordering some .068uF Orange Drop Spragues (and a few other values just to experiment). Thanks for double-checking the cap value. ;) Btw, I think it would be good to obtain and...

    Ibanez vs. Fendor

OMG! The trees have been butchered!! Maybe they were bought out by a big, foreign manufacturer?
