Living in Canada I feel like all Ibanez' are too expensive. I can see exchange rate coming into play, but the price difference with the USA is more than just exchange rate. Can't do it knowing there are better deals to be had. On that note I DO love Ibanez. Just not a fan of getting "taken"...

$500 is a good budget. Even if you must have new. Cort would be the last thing on my mind. Look at a Peavey or Squier. They both have some nice basses that will also give you the "look" for church. If the look is no biggie you can bring a lot more brands into consideration in that price point.

Last year they had one on there with two P pickups. It wasn't an SX though and I can't remember what exactly it was. I saw it one day and then it was gone. Hoping that is back in stock when I go on vacation. I will have to have it.

I'm in the same boat. Just got my SR300. Always have been an Ibanez fan. This is my first one in a long time though. Got it on clearance for $249.00 Canadian, down from $379.00 new. All 3 of my basses were brand new under $400 each. Doubt I will ever graduate to needing anything more expensive...
