Just wanted to throw this on here. First time I have come across this particular link. Shows some of those colors really well. They look a lot different then the generic stock pics. The pick guard is not so bad either IMO.

I've actually been toying with the idea of buying the Sunburst TMB-300 and the Mint TMB-100 and swapping the necks to get the TMB-100 Mint with the blocked and bound neck that I want and donating the TMB-300 with the dot neck to a local music program. That would put me $500 in before pickups, but eh. It's what I want. Hehe.

Yeah, I guess I could do the inverse, buy both and swap and sell the one I don't want, but I'd still have to route the body for the larger pickup - too much work.

Yeah. I'm lucky in that I have no interest in the double J in the bridge, otherwise I'd be in the same boat as you.

Yeah, if I was going to go that far, I may as well go even further and route it for a dark star, though that's way overkill - the pickup would cost more than the bass...

I was just about to open a thread on this bass.......

I went into the Ibanez booth at NAMM yesterday to check out what was new and this bass caught my attention: it looks just amazing! The sparkle in the paint is gorgeous and the finish looks fantastic. I picked it up and it feels heavy-ish, maybe 9.5lbs at a guess: the neck's a little bit thicker than I like but nice. Made in Indonesia and the fit and quality seem great. It said that the MSRP is $489 I think, and if it sounds as good as it looks it's a fantastic deal. At the MF price in the link it's unbelievable. It looks 100% better than the photographs suggest.

oh damn I was just about to take the plunge into my first active bass... Thick neck and that finish... Oh yeah !!

Haven't seen a dedicated thread, but I for one am very excited about these basses. P/J or P/Double J. I don't like stacked knobs but I am happy Ibanez is putting out a wider necked bass besides the ATK. I like the ATK sound and feel but really don't care for the bridge.

Mahogony body, maple/rosewood neck. Can't wait to check one out.

i have always liked the the Talman body shape but was dissapointed when they quit using the lipstick tube pickups. (on the guitars that is)

The choice of models in the UK is really rather limited. I think it's already been alluded to by others but only black and sunburst colours and single J pickup 100 no 300 available.

I suppose Ibanez have their reasons for the limited models available

The ones that don't have the blocks and binding are going to go for $199. That sounds like a real good deal.

Yeah, it adds to the GAS, especially being skint right now and probably a grand in debt for buying a bunch of other gear recently.
