New Ibanez Talman

Tort seems to be the only pickguard. I guess the only real option is if a player purchases a TMB, then send the pickguard to Pickguardian and have them duplicate it in whatever color or pattern desired. While the player was at it, he/she could specify a reverse-P and go for it, like having black MOTS on a black bass, or whatever else was desired.
Ibanez sells most of their parts. You could probably order one of the other pickguards.

You missed my point. Look at all the other colors of the basses offered, even the GC blue one. They all have a tort pickguard. No other colors. There is no Ibanez pickguard in another color to buy. If a person wants another pickguard, say a parchment white on the red bass or a black MOTS for the black one, then the original pickguard will need to be duplicated by someone like Pickguardian.com in order to get a different color guard.

oh hey, you're right!

Looks like the added some new colors for the TMB-100! Soda Blue, White, and Candy Apple. Not sure if they are exclusive to Musicians Friend/Guitar Center or not.

American Musical Supply has them, too. In fact, they posted them on their site before they were announced at NAMM, but then they pulled it off there. It might have been done accidentally. At the time, that was the only mention anywhere that I found.

I'd like too as well. I'm not sure of which color, though. The black one actually matches my Schecter Diamond J Bass, even with the pick guard. That's a thought. Then again, I've never owned a green instrument. Decisions, decisions...:wacky:

Almost wish you could mix and match them. I love the ivory and mint green colors, but a matching headstock, that double J pickup, and the fret board on the TMB300 are nice. Very limited selection for Canada as usual for Ibanez. I will likely buy one of these in August when I go down to the homeland on vaca. I don't have a P/J bass yet so......

Anyone know the differences between the TMB100 and TMB300 models (other than different colors)? I'm liking the mint green, but MF only shows it in the -100 version. Not that I need any more basses, just no wife to yell at me!

Well - the obvious: -300 has the double J humbucker at the bridge, with a splitter switch, 100 just has a single J.

Also, the 300 has a bound and blocked neck with matching headstock.

I'd put a white pearloid or black pick guard on it and dial in some rip-roar in' punkrock. Looks nice!
I agree! Why go to the effort of creating something reminiscent of the old Mustangs/Kays/Harmonys, etc. and put gorgeous flake finishes on then put a tort pickguard on? Pearloid is both MORE retro (given even Am STds have tort on them nowadays) AND matches the metallic finished better - obviouisly tort is best with the 3TS.
Having said all that - Ibanez does it again - they make the bass the Fender Jaguar SHOULD have been - and for $300.
They missed the boat with the EQ though - they should probably have left this passive or at least added a second switch to disable the active eq - also 2 slide switches would look way more retro than one.
I am really going to have to consider becoming an Ibanez guy...
EDIT: maybe I should trade my '76 P for one in each colour - that would be a cool looking arsenal on the wall! I would almost certainly want better pickups (at least in the P position), but who knows? Ibanez does some really impressive stuff at very low prices.

Huh, I'll have to read closer - I thought that was a coil splitter for the bridge pickup, not active EQ. Duh - nevermind, yeah, switch is coil splitter, the 2 band EQ is the (stacked) tone knob. I'd probably replace it anyway.
