    Light weight bass?

I love my Japanese Fenders with basswood bodies. The 60s Precision is lighter than the Aerodyne. I think its around 7 lbs.

    Ampeg Analog Classic Preamp

I like my Ampegs and my Rumbles. But I see no advantage to using the Ampeg Classic Preamp. It's getting sent back.

    Ampeg Analog Classic Preamp

Yes! There is on my Rumble 500. But not the Rumble 40. I'll give it a try. I never considered the scrambler feature of the SCR-DI because I like a clean tone. But, I hadn't considered simulating the natural tube distortion. The Rumble has a distortion circuit too, that I've never tried. My...

    Ampeg Analog Classic Preamp

Thanks! My idea was to make my Rumble sound more like an SVT. I tried the Classic with the Rumble controls all flat, and the buttons out. I really couldn't get a tone that was better than the Rumble with the contour and vintage buttons in, and a little bass and treble. To my ears anyway. If I...

    Ampeg Analog Classic Preamp

I used my SVT for many years, then my SVT3PRO. For the last couple of years, my main gigging rig is a Fender Rumble 500 and 2x10 ext cab. It's much easier on my back. Reported reliability problems kept me from an Ampeg combo. The Rumble sounds nice, but I miss the SVT magic. I used to just push...

    Fender Precision "Midnight" edition MIJ

Here's a pic of mine. It's beautifully made, and it's lightweight and resonant. It sounds great with the Fender nickle plated steel strings that came on it. The only problem is that the action should be better. There's a lot of relief in the neck. And, it looks impossible to turn the truss rod...

    NBD! Fender MIJ Midnight Precision

Thanks! If you want a nice Precision, I don't think you can beat it. Japanese Fenders are really nice. I don't know how they can charge twice as much for an American one. The gold hardware is pretty flashy, but I'm getting used to it. It will look nice with all the brass in the band!

    NBD! Fender MIJ Midnight Precision

It actually arrived on Dec 4. I've been playing a lot of Duck Dunn style bass lines with a classic R&B style horn band. I've been wanting a Precision with a rosewood board. I have a 74, with maple, and Jazz Bass neck dimensions. I bought it new. But, it doesn't really feel the same. My main...

    Fender Rumble Club

I got an email from FedEx yesterday, informing me of an order coming from LeCover. I called Larry. He said that he can't stand having one of his covers out there that's not right. So he sent me another one free of charge. I had decided not to worry about it, but this came as a nice surprise...

    Fender Rumble Club

My covers came yesterday. They fit perfectly, and are beautifully made. The only problem is that the cover for my 210 cab has the logo on the back, instead of the front. It's a shame, because it's a really nice embroidered logo. I talked to Larry. He said that if I send it back, he'll fix it...

    Fender Rumble Club

Larry said that he has sold 25 of these covers, and only one person mentioned that it was off. It couldn't be off by very much. He said he got the specs from Fender. I've bought four covers from Tuki. They're nice, but the new Rumbles have not been listed on their website.

    Fender Rumble Club

Based on this post, I ordered the padded covers for my 500 and 2x10 ext cab. The website says that the handle on the 500 is top dead center. But, a reviewer says that it's actually not centered. I called Larry, he is aware, and is making adjustments. My covers were made to order, and went out...

    Fender Rumble Club

I ordered the 2x10 and the 500 combo at the same time. I couldn't imagine gigging with just the combo. But, after using it both ways, I'm thinking that it's probably not necessary for a lot of my gigs. I was thinking about sending back. But, it makes a super cool looking stack! And, if I didn't...

    Fender Rumble Club

I posted this in the amps forum, but this is probably a better place. And, as a happy owner of a new Rumble, please make me a Rumble Club member. I used an Ampeg SVT with the 8x10, or two 1x15 JBL E140s for many years. I think it's the best bass amp ever made. It's semi retired now (like me)...

    Rumble 500 combo gig experience

I used an Ampeg SVT with the 8x10, or two 1x15 JBL E140s for many years. I think it's the best bass amp ever made. It's semi retired now (like me), and my main rig is a SVT 3 PRO and BSE 410HLF cab. I play bar gigs in a blues band, and I love this rig. But, that 4x10 must weigh close to 100 lbs...
