35W at home ? Is it enough ?

I just picked up an SWR LA10 for living room noodling and it has been a nice surprise. No d/i, but for my needs it's not an issue. Handles the B on my active sixer just fine. Nice size, nice weight. I use this strictly for solo practice but wouldn't hesitate to use it in a lower-volume jam.

    Agreed. Way too nice.

Too many possibilities for a poll - Who is your "Most underrated/under-appreciated bassist?

Alan Anton certainly lays down some interesting parts that always support the song. He also has a nice understated tone that fits the overall feel of the band. Very good choice!

    Janky-A Rigs of Doom

Added Jank. Crate 2/15 and poverty tuner. And the zoom board is jankier than it looks. I think the tube is going bad. After a while every patch is distorted.

    John Paul Jones fan club?

I was on a drive to a friend's house when I heard this crazy song with this waling vocal intro and chugging guitar, painting an incredible visual for me. When the weekend ended and I returned home I told my mother about it, how entranced I was. She led me to the living room, pulled a record out...

    Janky-A Rigs of Doom

Those few of you looking for janky cabs need to look on the GC site under used gear. There is some truly jank-o-rific stank going on in there, fairly cheap. I just added a 2x15 to my collection. Though it looks meh, keep in mind that they are Crate and Behringer cabs. :)

    Janky-A Rigs of Doom

I could, and might. But honestly, I've been jonesing for a 4/10 for some time. But I should just fix the 2/10 to give myself more options. Or leave it sounding all janked-up.

    Janky-A Rigs of Doom

Seems my janky rig took a stanky crap on me. The input on the 'ringer 2/10 finally went boobies-up like I've heard they do, and the Crate 1/18 seems to have developed some flatulence. Probably replace the speaker in the Crate and ditch the 2/10 for a 4/10 of more reputable build.

    Underrated Bassists

Eddie Jackson, Queensryche. I know his lines were typically simple, but given the amount of room he had to work with........Plus he always seemed to have great tone, sang back-up, did some keys AND played fingerstyle in an era/genre where many bassists thought they just another guitar player.

Essex Bass Club - Part 14

Bummer. I could really go for a 3TS five-string P (picky, I know) to compliment my black Squier Standard Precision V (two Jazz pups). So now it's either a 3TS P or the 3TS Jazz fiver from SX.

Essex Bass Club - Part 14

Question for the longtime SX players/collectors. Do they ever put out P-fivers? I'm looking for another five and dig my Ursa P/J but all I ever see are the Jazzes. I may have to bite the bullet but if there is a remote possibility of a P5 I'll wait a bit.

    Bass Related Dreams You've Had

After watching "The Song Remains the Same" for the umpteenth time, I dreamt I was JPJ, seeimng the band and crowd through his eyes, only to wake up disappointed that I wasn't. Duh. But it took me looking in the mirror and not seeing the frilly shirt and, uh, hairstyle (I'm bald, fwiw) to realize...

    Any mountain bikers??

I'd like to throw X-fusion into the ring as far as a fork. I have an Enix RL on my fs rig and love it. I've heard nothing but positive reviews on their longer-travel stuff as far as stiffness, adjustability and feel. All knobs/caps/other small bits are machined aluminum, "fit and finish" is top...
