Yes we have plugged mic's directly into the mackie and they work fine....its when its getting the full spectrum from the entire band that they start acting up. Im also now aware at how terrible the Mackie's are for overall volume but they carry the low end really well considering we dont use...

dude...if it helps your problem, then it works for you! you might even change your play style a little bit and learn to like it. When i pictured it i imagined all sorts of weird sounding ghost notes that could come from the muting with a gloved hand. Might actually sound cool or heaven...

+1.... why exchange comfort and ease of playing for a look? and if needed, I would still prefer to stand behind something and not be seen rather than be uncomfortable. but thats just me.

Might be a stupid question but Im about to start purchasing multiple effects pedals. Would an EQ pedal best fit in at the end to even out the overall tone I want? or eariler. didnt see it mentioned anywhere yet.

I wasnt going to post in this thread till someone chimed in and suggested Genz Benz. I currently use the shuttle 6.0 and couldnt be happier. Not only that I get NON STOP compliments on the tones and shear power it puts out. Im never lost in the mix with GB! So +1 for Genz Benz!

Yeah I do plan on at least bringing a patch cord along with me from now on just in case. However I have been playing it off and on all morning so far....and with no problems, thats also without the patch cord in it. But I might just start to keep it in there especially if the problem shows up...
