I've tried several onboard pre-amps in the past, but I've ended up removing them and using a standard tone control. Even on my basses with active EMG pickups, I've use the standard tone control.

I recently took advantage of an string sale at juststrings.com and purchased some much needed replacement strings. Unfortunately, I have not received any status updates regarding my order in 5 days. I've ordered strings from them in the past with no issues. Anyone else experiencing issues?

18 volts causes the pickups to draw more current: the voltage increased but the resistance remain the same. Ohms law (Current = Voltage / Resistance)

I've been a fan of the JA and JAX sets. Your tonal description is accurate. IMO the JA and JAX have a more pronounced mid frequency response the the J & JX sets.

I like the PV 63 too. Very punchy tone. I am curious about the PV 60 & PV 62. Are these new pickups or old renamed pickups?

Concur. PV 63 with GHS balanced nickels is a great combination.

I was wondering why G&L added that resistor to their SB-1 tone circuit. It makes sense given the clarity of their MFD precision pickup.
