Yeah - that's where I got all my previous sets.

If you were famous...what brand would produce your signature bass and what would it be like?

Give me an Ibanez Premium tuned BEAD with the active circuitry removed, the top wood Spalted Maple or Swamp Ash, and the bridge pu moved a little closer to the neck pu. That'll do it for me.

They also have a sets of Super Bright SS which I have on my basses (DBSBS45130T), but I don't see it listed at Fret Nation anymore. Hmmm, and it's almost time for new strings again. They're $45 from Dunlop ... I'm not paying that much!

I'm happy your wife got through it Mike - does she know where she contracted it? I don't know anyone that's actually had it myself.

    Ronnie Lane's Zemaitis bass

I remember when"Stay with Me" first came out, I think the same year as "Bang a Gong" ... wasn't being young great ...

    NBD - Tune

Congrats on the new bass - looks cool! The jack looks recessed like on Ibanez SR.

^ If dirty pots are the problem, try Deoxit ... it works wonders.

Ibanez SRH500f vs ESP LTD TL-4 fretless?

The Ibby has a slightly smaller neck. I'm partial to the Ibanez.

    The Star Treks

With nothing much else on worth watching these days - I've been re-watching all the Voyager series & some NG shows. I think Voyager has the most elegant theme song, and visuals. The cast is great, and Robert Picardo just nails the EMH doctor role.

    Do I simply prefer passive?

I've always been in the active camp, but since I got a bass with the Nordy Big Singles with an active/passive switch - I found it much easier to dial in the right sound through my pedals in passive. I never use it in active anymore, and I've found a lot has to do with having quality pickups.

I don't think you understood my post - you yourself even mentioned "blind tested" in the article. There have been sooooo many of these threads, and through the years I've heard people swear they can hear differences of body woods on different basses with different electronics, pu's, old/new...
