Thanks all. I ended up just running without the preamp. Sound guy wanted us to “fill the stage and I’ll fill the room”………for an instrumental surf band. 🤦 Had to have him pipe me through the monitor so I could hear myself during sound check. Took care of that problem during the gig. 😂

playing a gig tomorrow and using the other group’s bass amp. I’ve always either played my Ampeg B100R, or gone direct with an Ampeg Classic preamp pedal. What should I set the amp (Mark Bass Little Mark250) for if I want to use the pedal? Run everything at 12? Go through the effects loop...

Yep. Played in a Buffett cover band for 3 or so years. Big part of my summers, and his music has been a big part of my life for 30+ years.

everyone hits with that when a Longhorn discussion happens, but it’s totally irrelevant to the discussion. Question wasn't how it plays, it was whether it was cool or not. I never argue playing quality……I’ve never played one. As ugly as it is, I don’t see myself ever playing one.
