Hi all, I'm considering buying a bass from UptonBass.com but before going ahead with the purchase I would like to know what Talkbass thinks about Upton. Also has anyone in mainland Europe ever had an Upton Bass delivered to them, and were there any issues? Thanks in advance

Hi all, Lately I really have the urge to start double bass, I'm currently studying jazz at a music school and play electric bass. Now I had one question I'm left handed, and it suddenly struck me do I need to find a beginner left handed double bass or could I just learn to play it right handed...

If you want to play proffesionaly then yes, you can not turn up for a decent job and not be able to read and to lesser extent write. In the past maybe you could just play and get away with it and even be successful (Like the Beatles and Hendrix who apparently could not only not read music but...

I'd personally choose Lakland from the above but the whole Fender upping prices lowering quality is not entirely true. The last Fender models, don't know about Music Man, I've played (US models) have greatly improved in quality and pretty decent price-quality. I wouldnt discard those brands...

Congrats, I ordered my new one a month ago, a California JM in hardcore aged Surf Green with a maple fingerboard no inlays whatsoever ... Oh and left handed ofcourse. Mine should be here before Christmas, when is yours due?
