What song have you played the most in your life?

I spent most of my cover band life in southern rock bands. The winner for me is a toss up between Sweet Home Alabama or Statesboro Blues

Why is my 100 watt tube amp louder than my 350 watt solid state amp?

Wow, we really threw the kitchen sink at this poor guy. I think this may be a trial by fire, for suts. Welcome to TB, I hope you don't run off saying "those guys are nuts" To clarify, we are not crazy, it's just the effect of sustained loud low frequencies to the brain. Let me offer a bit of...

I've seen lots of things but I've never seen this...

I do think it is odd, but "to each his own". I did get grossed out when my wife told me some of the brony conventions include cosplay sex. That's something you can't un-see!

Just ordered a 4003 after a lifetime of Fenders. What to expect?

What to expect? Expect spending a lot of time adjusting the EQ on your amp to find the sweet spot for a Ric Expect some getting used to the odd ergonomics Expect to be annoyed by the hum but then realizing that it's integral to the awesome tone Expect to play your Ric much differently than...

    Rumble 100, 200 and 500 same volume?

Don't sell those small 1x12s short. One of the loudest things I have ever heard was a dimed out 1980s JCM800 1x12 amp. Painfully loud. And I was a Fighter jet mechanic in the USAF for 10 years!

    Rumble 100, 200 and 500 same volume?

Wow, I had a Rumble 200 when they first came out and that thing was pretty darn loud for a "modern technology" type combo. Your band must be legit with volume. When it comes to dominating the stage volume war, there can only be one-and it ain't light: I own one just for deterrent purposes...

How would your friends describe you? Poll!

I used to have friends. Then I got married to a fiery redhead and had 3 daughters. My friends went running for their lives. There are days I wished I had followed them...:banghead:

    bass regrets

Nope. I cut loose of a bass when it's time and don't look back. If I find one I like I keep it no matter what. I still have a Gibson Grabber that I purchased 26 years ago and even though I have been homeless a few times in that span, it's hanging on the wall in front of me.

How many times per year do you gig with your 810?

I love my built in 'Merica, beautiful looking and sounding 8x10 Ampeg. It never leaves my practice area inside my house. I know it was a Mutha to move when I bought it. If it didn't have a handle and wheels, it would probably never made it into the house from my garage 200 feet away. :laugh...

410 with a 115. Why so much hate????

I can sell you my vintage 3X12" Kustom cab and you will have only one cabinet to blame for being bad sounding and under powered. At least it's tuck and roll upholstered! :smug: Seriously, as a champion of vintage cabs, I have to suggest you go with a proven modern cabinet such as a well designed...

Bass Players are Their Own Worst Enemy!

My mid-seventies Acoustic 470 and 406 cab scares the bejeezus out of sound guys. They tell me not to show up with old school equipment like that. They piss and moan about stage sound and Mic distortion and on and on... I LOVE my old Acoustic amps and like to play them as much as possible. They...

Who's your "I just don't get it" artist?

Primus 99% of The Who songs ( I still love Entwhistle) Nirvana "To each their own" I always say.

    HELP ID THIS ODDBALL BASS!

It seems like the lovechild of a Ric and a Gibson Grabber.

Anybody else afraid of any forums here?

Yep, the amplifiers and effects forums can get a bit "bumpy". I have seen the "hive mind" take over quickly if you do not fit their "norm". I have also found many folks to be super-helpful and knowledgeable on many of the forums here. I have to admit, I still am not used to people...

Bit of a rough one last night

Technology is great, when it works...Always have a working plan "B" and "C" and even a "D". I don't lug around 2 heads, 2 cabinets, 3 basses and a DI preamp to every gig because it's fun. Sounds like you overcame adversity quite well! Learn from it and move on.
