Around 7 right now, but I know I'm slightly underpowered, since my amp isn't technically a bass amp. I'm working on stealing a few pedals off of ebay that I can use for preamp purposes, since I'd really prefer to be running the master at <=5.

I want to try using some pedals to fine tune my sound on a tight budget. I've read some rave reviews about the 250. I'm not able to spring for a vintage one right now or a modded one, so I have to make a choice between a 250 reissue or a YJM308. I've read that the YJM308 is supposed to sound...

It's not always easy to find a bass that plays just like you want it, and that you can afford. This is especially true for new, young players, who might not yet know how they want their bass to play and can't afford much. That's how it was for me, anyway. Having outgrown the small scale...

Just one, it was a D that broke while tuning. It was within a few weeks of my buying the bass, a $40 POS I played for a while as a teenager, so I guess they were just beat-up old strings.
