    How's your reading?

I'd say a C, I was in band for 7 years and always played bass clef instruments so I had a good foundation when I picked up bass. That said I was never that great when I was in band, I never did learn how to count properly until about two years ago and its an uphill battle for me now.

    Counting

I get the feeling that this is something stupid to ask about, but I really need some help with my counting. It's my biggest stumbling block whenever I sit down and try to read a piece. The biggest problems come from sixteenth-eighth patterns, also any advice on counting these patterns...

    5 String Probs...

My 5er is a 34" and it holds drop A just fine, if you think the neck length is the problem try more wraps around the tuner when you restring, it gives you a little extra tension, be warned though, it tends to take some thump out of the tone.

Beautiful Or Cheesy Bass Mods - Let's See 'Em

The body on that beast looks like an ESP Tom Araya Signature body. Since it was unmarked and painted black I guess I'll just have to assume, a glance at ESP's website is pretty convincing though.

    Intonation Screws

Hey guys, just picked up a Washburn XB125 for a steal, but the catch was it was in less than mint condition,:hmm:. Anyways most of the problems were taken care of( new strings, polish, blah blah) when it got home but there's one thing that's still bothering me: during set-up I noticed that...

    Bass by accident

Mine's no big deal but why not? I started out playing tromboneback when I was 12. A year of that with no progress so I was switched to tuba. A whole other story, my first time on the bottom end didn't feel like the first time it felt like something I'd always done, natural, I loved it. Moving on...
