Jeff- thank you for giving this information. From your descriptions, I would say it really nails spot on, your design goals. Your concept would be a perfect description of what you achieved with this amp, and falls right in line with my amp goals. I was just wondering if any of that sweet tuber...

Ok, finally picked up a Kinetix to pair with my MG-212t. I had been using a Mesa WD-800, had to sell that for financial reasons, and been surviving with my backup amp, an Acoustic Image Clarus SL. MAN, the amp is my favorite to date. I do have a couple questions, and could not find the...

Source Audio Sorcerers Society (S.A.S.S) Part 3

Sorry to go off topic. The new app works great on my IPad mini. here’s my question. I’m great on the C4. I just got the Ultra Wave and the Atlas. So, on the C4 I can make tweaks in the pedal with the knobs and then long press the pedal to save those changes on the pedal. On the other 2, is...

Gigging thoughts after 30 years playing live

It’s almost like the Schroeder type cabs work better for bad rooms. Less low end and mid forward voice. The nice even full range ones seem to be too polite and will get woofy in a bad room.

There are several. Most modern Mesa amps have a great one. F-Deck makes an excellent outboard one. As well as Broughton. Acoustic Image amps are transparent and all feature a variable one. Those would be my recommendations.

I think I know good tone and I try to be conscientious. Our gigs currently cocktail/dinner, then balls out dance music. The dance sets are at a volume that in a big cavernous room it just doesn’t matter. Best tone possible, and you’re still only as good at the reverb and quirks of the room.

So I’ll also say in a way this band is old school in that we all still use amps but not too loud. I asked about just going direct and they all want the bass amp. No one else uses in-ears. The band is pretty interactive with the crowd and the guys don’t want that hearing separation from what’s...

Gigging thoughts after 30 years playing live

We do have PA and we play for packed rooms of humans. I high pass my amp probably around 60. I send direct to the PA. Band Leader does the mixing, puts me through the subs only. Those stop probably around 80, and also have the kick. When I do the bass breaks in Brown Eyed Girl and Can’t stop the...

Gigging thoughts after 30 years playing live

I saw a live band the other night in a decent (non-cavernous) venue where the bassist played with a pick and used chorus. It made the bass “hollow” and “middy” sounding out front.
