Fender Modern player Jazz bass - Split the coils?

Yea, you are right. I managed to get the cover off (that was epoxied) and all of the internal wires are embedded into the epoxy, so there is no reasonable way to get to them. I would probably end up destroying them in the process. I did not reslize that Delano or Haeussel made double J...

Fender Modern player Jazz bass - Split the coils?

Hi All, I just got a 2011 white Fender Modern player with the Humbuckers. It is very well made (much better than a MIM), I do like the sound of the humbuckers, but I would like the option of splitting the coils with a push pull pot to get the traditional Jazz sound when I want it. I looked...

Help - Warmoth 72 P/J nitro build finish issue

BTW: Follow-up question. Since my touch ups were only 2 coats of color and 2 coats of clear. Do I need to wait 2 weeks for "cure" - I would imagine it would cure faster becase it is so thin ?

Help - Warmoth 72 P/J nitro build finish issue

Thank you SlingBlader! I am thinking based on close observation, that haze goes all the way through. Sooo, here is what I decided to do. Since the areas are so localized to the outside horns only. I am just going to put 2 coats of color, and get hopefully get 2 coats of clear on it...

Help - Warmoth 72 P/J nitro build finish issue

Hi SlingBlader, Thank you! Here was the process (probably more than you wanted): I used Oxford Fiesta Red and clear nitro, Stew mac Filler, Sanding sealer, and white Vinyl sealer (which I probably did not need) In a heated ventilated garage - around 69-71 degrees : Day 1 Sand and grain...

    Warmoth 72 P build..Anyone??

I am building a Warmoth 72 PJ now. I am doing the nitro myself (first time), looking good but I will not really know until i do the final wet sand and polish next week (in that last cure waiting 2+ weeks). I have literally 14 coats of clear on this thing so I hope it will be OK. I did make...

    Nikolai Fraiture Bass tone?

I started playing-bass again a few years ago because of the strokes! I love Nicholis ‘s style and tone, but I also think it changes quite a bit from album to album. I love the tone of Trying your Luck, I have tried to recreate it through several basses, always had an ampeg amp, but could not...

This is super nice, man - incredible job. I found this thread becase I was doing research on what looks to be my next project - a Warmoth 72! lol. I know you said you did a Vol/Vol/Tone setup, but the bottom knob look like a toggle? I want it to be light - so I was thinking of doing a...
